Mongoos150 Excellent. I can’t believe i’m writing this about a Microsoft app, for the iPhone no less, but this is the best iOS email client i’ve ever used. I’ve used almost all of them, including Gmail extensively. The BEST thing about this app? Focused Inbox. Outlook quickly learns who is important and who isn’t, and delivers notifications only for the “focused inbox” (unless you have it configured otherwise). Gmail has a version of this but its not as simple and clear-cut as Focused Inbox on outlook.

Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are all faster, easier to use, and more elegant. Most features are almost identical those of the Windows versions, but not all. For example, the Mac version can't import PDF files and create editable Office documents from the contents, but the Windows version can. I’d never realized how much time I’d spent paying attention to email notifications that didn’t require attention (receipts, work emails from other departments) - and how Outlook has streamlined my focus by reducing the number of notifications I receive. Outlook for iOS is streamlined to handle multiple accounts super well, including custom notifications per account, calendar account integration (for event creation when email content includes a date or time). The notifications themselves are even better than Mail / Gmail on iOS, allowing me to archive, reply or mark as read from the banner pull-down, without ever needing to enter the app. Even the sounds are better. Anyway, other packages, i.e., Excel, Word work just fine. When it starts, it got pass the Help Improvement page and works as expected/usual. I then try to boot into the safe mode, and Outlook 2016 starts and cannot get pass the Help Improvement page as before. Next step I moved the Outlook 2016 to the trash, empty it and install this same version 16.16.0 which was downloaded from the office 2016 for mac update web page.

The OneDrive integration in Office 2016 is better than you get with Windows 10, but not as good as in Office for Mac Final verdict When software is as powerful, mature and as complex as Office is on Windows, making it easier to use can be as important as adding more features. That’s the trade-off Microsoft has made with Office since the ribbon interface was first introduced. The Tell Me feature is a big help here, although it does show you quite how many features could do with a refresh – Tell Me makes it easy to find the Rules editor in Outlook but does nothing to fix the problem that it’s still in a tiny window you can’t resize. But there are useful new features in Office 2016, with more arriving in the monthly updates, and many, many improvements to existing features. The sharing and co-authoring tools continue to get easier to use and more powerful, although it’s disappointing that Windows users don’t get the superb OneDrive integration that’s on the Mac, where you can see files that have been shared with you by other people – saving a huge amount of time when you’re collaborating. Excel has finally been graced with some new chart types, and the data analysis tools like maps are built in, and available in all versions, instead of being expensive and complicated extras.
